Lea
River & Filter Beds
Ended up on the Lee Navigation again and had lunch
on the Greenway right opposite the Olympic Stadium.
I stopped off at the Filter Beds and Clissold Park
on the return journey.
A
great weekend of solo riding.

Midsummer
night's ride in our favorite city. Second
time around withleading
experts from Moscow and London.
Dedicated to the West End - Kensington,
Chelsea and Westminster, and to urban evolution
in times of Prince Albert.
Starting from the Buckingham palace the
night will focus on everything conceptually
Early-Victorian - from Underground to 1851
Exhibition and Crystal Palaces, from public
museums to poetry and engineering, shopping
and... private cemeteries. It is here, on
Kensal Green Cemetery, we will unveil a
song based on GK Chesterton's classic "Rolling
English Road" which turns 100 this
year. The song is written especially for
this event by Bruno Belbosco.

We
abandoned the ride on the Broad Walk at Regent's
Park after Chris had yet another tyre deflation.
What's going on? :-)
Sam
and I caught up with him at Cycle Surgery
on Pentonville Road after a brief phone call. By
the time the inner tube was replaced it was too
late to go chasing after the ride so we headed to
the Festival
of Cycling in Finsbury Park where the guys
had their bikes security marked.
We
had lunch in Clissold Park, where the annual Anatolian
Cultural Fete was taking place.
Not
a bad day if you consider how it started off.

Dry Run |
Photos
We
attempted a dry run to Slough but decided to abandon
it in Hayes because of the less than ideal weather
conditions and a tyre incident.
We
had a picnic on the canal bank and then headed back
down the Paddington Arm only to have a second puncture
less than a mile from the first incident. lol -
not hilariously funny at the time.
There
are extensive towpath improvement works going on
at the moment in Ealing, so when they're completed
it will be a lot faster and a much more pleasant
experience.
Brilliant ride in spite of the mishaps! :-)
