Sunny,
clear skies, I had to go for a ride even though
it was 5 °C.
I
put some freshly brewed coffee in a thermos and
headed for Victoria Park. By the time I got there
my fingers were getting a little numb so I sat down
by the lake and drank the coffee. Did two laps of
the park and headed back when my toes started to
get numb, next time Irish coffee. Gbrrrrrrrrr......
Decided
to pop round to the Hackney branch of Lidl and check
out their new cycling gear.

We
invite all Londoners to join us riding through Parliament
Square in support of the cycling debate, sending
a clear message to our Mayor that Londoners demand
dedicated space for cycling.
The
debate will discuss the recommendations of the All-Party
Parliamentary Cycling Group's Get Britain Cycling
report, supported by The Times, and to which we
and many other campaigning organisations and individuals
contributed.
Our
protest will remind the Mayor that providing dedicated
space for cycling is vitally important for make
our streets safe and inviting for everyone:
Main
roads and major junctions need to be made safe for
cycling using segregated tracks and cyclist-specific
traffic lights to protect people from fast-moving
and heavy motor traffic.
Local streets – where people predominantly
live and shop – should transformed into spaces
that are safe for cycling and walking by removing
through motor traffic and reducing its speed.

The
Novice Cyclist
I've
recently taken up cycling as a healthier option
to my long time hobbies of smoking, drinking
and general laying about and I must admit it
has been quite a revelation. For a middle aged
man who has spent his lifetime with the devout
belief that he is allergic to all forms of exercise
I find myself thoroughly enjoying this indulgent
pastime.
