Went for an evening ride and was caught in an English version of a 'tropical downpour'. Soaked to the marrow!

Thursday 5 July

Went exploring in darkest Stoke Newington with Chris, we ended up at Abney 'cemetery' Park. I really like old cemeteries and this is a beaut, it's like something from a Hammer horror movie!!

Odometer reading: 12.20 miles

Tuesday 3 July

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN,.................................. and more RAIN!

Sunday 1 July

Took the bike on the train up to Harrow in the hope that I'd feel up to riding back after my visit. Had a lovely meal and a good laugh with Mum, but before I knew it the five hours were up and it was time to hit the asphalt.

I left in good time to get home for kick-off at 19:45. Forgot my phone mount in my other backpack so had to stop to look at the map a couple of times. It seems that 'voice instructions' don't work when OsmAnd is in 'off-line vector maps' mode.
Anyway it turns out I remembered most of the route from the first time, so next time I don't think I'll need any help finding my way.

Great day!

Time: 2.14.27
Average Speed: 9.2 mph
Odometer reading: 20.86 miles

The Novice Cyclist

I've recently taken up cycling as a healthier option to my long time hobbies of smoking, drinking and general laying about and I must admit it has been quite a revelation. For a middle aged man who has spent his lifetime with the devout belief that he is allergic to all forms of exercise I find myself thoroughly enjoying this indulgent pastime.

:-) You'll have to go to Chris' blog to read the rest of his amusing introduction.. The CoolBlue Journal
